Flair Electronics manufactures both wired and wireless annunciators which are mostly used to monitor the security of a facility. Earlier this year, we created a panel that would instead be used for notification. Pennsylvania company Chalmers Security Systems reached out to us and requested a custom annunciator for a panic switch to be used in a traffic court. Panic switches are typical in courtrooms, as they can immediately request assistance from law enforcement. This particular courthouse has seven courtrooms and was supplied with panic switches in each room. A judge in any room can press the button which is located under his or her desk, immediately notifying the in house sheriff that help is needed. The two displays light up with the number correspoding to each courtroom.
In a short time, we produced an eight zone surface mount annunciator and two remote, numbered displays that measure 12″ x 48″. The displays are powered by bright, long lasting LED lights, making them easy to see from a distance. They were also made with a special graphic face plate which helps reduce glare and sharpen the images.
Pictured below are the two displays after they were installed in the traffic court.
