A Growing Market You Can Pursue
According to Research and Markets the ambulatory surgery center (ASC) market was estimated to reach $36 billion in 2018 and is projected to increase to $40 billion by 2020. Drivers for revenue growth are lower outpatient surgery costs in ASCs compared to other settings, improved safety driven by technological advancements and the aging U.S. population. There are more than 6,100 ASCs in the U.S. and approximately 70% are owned by independent physician groups. As of 2017, more than half of outpatient surgeries were performed in an ASC setting, up from 32% in 2005.
The Growth of Nurse Call and Long-Term Care
The demand for nurse call systems and long term care overall is expected to rise over the years.
The “baby boomer” generation is the largest generation in the U.S. – people ages 52 to 70 – born right after World War II. And as healthcare and science progress, the baby boomer generation is living longer and is remaining to be the largest generation, but they are needing more help. The large population of these elderly people forecast a rise in demand for senior care. As can be seen from the graph, the elderly assisted living market will grow up to 20% per year.
